Kristin Fischer will join CNN as the Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In her new position she will cover all aspects of space, from NASA as well as the new Space Force, to commercial companies in space and the rise in space travel. Kristin was born into the sector of space, as the grandchild and daughter of NASA astronauts. Over the last five years, she's reported on space policy during the Trump and Biden Administrations on FOX News. Through her tenure, she reported on the presidential 2020 campaign, two impeachment trials and two attempts to prevent the pandemic coronavirus, and two other administrations' initiatives. She also traveled extensively with the President and Vice President, including a top secret visit to Afghanistan with former President Donald Trump. Before joining the network in the year 2015, Kristin spent nearly a decade working her way up in local TV news stations which included Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she won an Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Kristin as a skilled filmmaker, founded Field Mouse Films, a business that specialises in documentary-style films with clients like Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin has earned a Bachelor of Science Diploma in Journalism from Boston University. She lives with her husband in Washington, D.C., and has a three-year old daughter.
